Maria Cristina Messa
Formerly Rector of the University of Milano-Bicocca
Cristina Messa is full Professor of Diagnostic Imaging. From October 2013 to 2019 she was Rector of the University of Milano-Bicocca and from 2015 she was member of the Board of the Conference of Italian University Rectors, in particular she is Delegate for the Research. In October 2018, she has been nominated as member of the Don Carlo Gnocchi Foundation Scientific and Technical Committee. In April 2018, she has been selected as a member of the EUA Nominations Committee; in June 2017, she has been designated by the The Ministry of Education, Universities and Research member of the Italian Observatory for Specialized Medical Education. Since 2017 she is President of University for Innovation (U4I) Foundation, promoted by three Universities: Milano-Bicocca, Bergamo and Pavia. From November 2016 to May 2018 she has been member of Human Technopole Coordination Committee, a national cross disciplinary research infrastructure.
In July 2013, she has been designated as one of the Italian Delegate for Horizon 2020, in particular she is the MIUR Delegate for Research Infrastructures, including e-infrastructures.
She has been Vice President of CNR, the National Research Council, from 2011 to September 2015.
