Fabio Donato
Scientific Counsellor at the Italian Permanent Representation to the European Union
Fabio Donato, ph.d. in business administration at the University of Pisa, is Professor in business administration at the University of Ferrara and Scientific Counsellor at the Italian Permanent Representation to the European Union.
He started his academic career at the University of Pisa where he defended a ph.d thesis in the field of environmental management systems in business enterprises. Later, he moved to the University of Ferrara, where he received the full professorship in business administration when he was 38.
His academic interests are in the field of the corporate social responsibility, the management of public services and the management of cultural organizations. At the University of Ferrara he taught the business administration course and the public management course, and he served his institution as Coordinator of the doctoral school in social sciences and humanities as well as Director of the master degree in economics and management of museums and cultural services.
He was the Italian representative in the European framework programme for research and innovation Horizon 2020 for the societal challenge “Inclusive, innovative and reflective societies”.
He was elected President of the Ministry of Culture advisory board on economics of culture, where he has been a member of the Higher Council for Cultural Heritage (Consiglio Superiore per i Beni Culturali) of the Ministry.
Currently, he is the Scientific Counsellor at the Italian Permanent Representation to the European Union in Brussels.
