The first edition of Meet in Italy for Life Sciences was held at Florence in 2014 under the sponsorship of national institutions and the participation of Regions, industry trade groups, and technological parks and districts.
The event was conceived by the Life Sciences Tuscany District and Confindustria Toscana, which expressed the need to find a nationwide arena for boosting the demand for innovation and technology, thereby promoting economic growth and social wellbeing and creating significant employment opportunities.
The initiative provided the opportunity of organizing business meetings between about 150 companies, investors and research groups, 16% of which foreign ones, amounting to over 600 meetings, 45% of which led to partnership agreements or further contacts after the conclusion of the event.
