Paola Testori Coggi
Former Director General, DG for Health and Food Safety (SANTE), European Commission
Paola Testori Coggi has done her career within the European Commission where she entered in 1983 in the environmental sector and held various posts in the area of health, food safety, consumer protection and research.
She has been Director General for health and consumer until 2014; among her achievements, the White Paper on food safety, the creation of the European Food Safety Authority, the newlegislation on cross-border health care and on pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and the
promotion of health as an investment for growth.
After having returned to Italy, she has worked for the Ministry of Health as President of the pharmaceuticals Committee of the Italian Medicines Agency until 2018.
Testori Coggi is a biologist with a Master in ecotoxicology and a Laurea Honoris Causa in veterinary medicine. In 2010, she was awarded the Cross of Merit of Official of the Italian Republic.
